As Pastor of Calvary Chapel, I encourage you to spend some time getting to know us and see the wonderful things God is doing among us. God has placed a hunger in our lives for more of Him; a call to a deeper walk into uncharted territories. We desire to advance the Kingdom of God wherever we are in whatever we are doing; and, while we are the salt and light to a bland and dark world, we want to be a people who are taking the Kingdom of Heaven by force.
We are a passionate people overwhelmed by the passion of Jesus! We earnestly desire spiritual gifts and continue to stir up the gifts of God which are in us.
We believe we have a message for both the lost and the saved for these days ahead. A call of hope and salvation for the lost. A call to return to their first love for the saved. A message of preparation, maturity and walking in the Spirit for the Church.
Our desire is to see all who are called to Calvary Chapel begin to embrace their destiny of being conformed to the image of Jesus (Romans 8:28). It is also our desire to see you embrace your destiny of walking in your gifting to accomplish the same end. Embracing these destinies will bring forth the expansion of God's Kingdom.
May your visit with us encourage and challenge you to do so.
Prayerfully and Expectantly,
Pastor Roger Stroup
You don't need to feel obligated to wear formal clothes. We believe you can be dressed in your Sunday's Best even if you're in blue jeans, because it's how your heart is dressed that really matters.
We always enjoy worshipping with and meeting new people. Our building has a steeple and a bell we proudly use every Sunday morning to ring in the beginning of our services. You can expect a warm welcome and a friendly smile as you walk through the doors. In the entryway, we spend some time connecting face to face with one another before the service time begins.
Both the 9 am and 10:30 am services begin with songs of praise which may be anything from an old hymn of the church, to a chorus newly written. We believe praising God is one of the best ways to focus on Him. At Calvary, we enter into a time of praise and worship to prepare our hearts to hear what He has to say to us.
After a short pause, Pastor Roger (and the occasion a church elder or visitor) will bring a message to us. Sometimes we go through a series, like a study through one book of the Bible, or a theme. We take the Bible seriously. It's our guide for living. The Bible has given so many of our members insight when they least expected it (you can even feel free to ask someone about it!) and so the church leadership never strays from it.
The 9 and 10:30 services are nearly identical in regards to what happens in the main sanctuary space. In other parts of our building, there are also activities going on during both of the Worship Service for children and adult classes during the 9:00 am service.
There are no adult or children's Sunday School classes during the 10:30 am service. However, there are rooms designated for kids through age four with supervised play and activities during the 10:30 am service.
